How can I prepare before surgery?

Prior to surgery we advise all patients to stop smoking, we also require patients to be good in health and take the necessary time after surgery in order rest up and heal well.

After your cosmetic surgery you may return to light, daily activities immediately afterwards, but it is wise to avoid strenuous exertion for a week or two.

Can I combine breast implant replacement with a mastopexy?

A Mastopexy, also known as breast uplift is designed to lift the breast by removing and pulling the skin taught around the breast tissue. In some cases patients will require not only to remove (or replace) the original implant but also condition and restore the breast natural bounce and shape.

Can you make my breast implants larger (or smaller)?

The only way to change the size and shape of the breast after breast augmentation surgery is replacing the implant for a new size or shape. It is possible for patients to increase or decrease the size of their existing breast implant.

What breast implants do you use?

At Cosmetic Surgery Partners we only use Nagor implants which are not only certified as safe by FDA and CE standards they also hold a lifetime guarantee against rupturing. Our surgeons will be able to advise you for the best type of shape and size during your initial consultation.

Can you remove my PIP breast implants?

Yes, many patients we see come to us a result of being fitted with faulty PIP breast implants, our surgeons are not only able to replace the PIP for a reputable and safe brand but are also able to address poor choice of size, shape and even positioning of the original breast implant.

Will having my breast implant replaced result in more scarring?

Our surgeons are experts in producing natural looking result and will always aim to replace the patient’s breast implants through existing incisions. In some cases our surgeons are able to address and minimise any overt scarring as a result of previous breast operations.

How long does the healing take?

Every patient heals differently however on average we find that most patients are fully healed and ready to resume all daily routines 4-6 weeks post surgery.

Will I feel pain during the surgery?

The surgery itself will be performed under anaesthetic during which you will not be able to feel any pain.

After surgery patients may wake up feeling a little groggy, there will be some discomfort for the first few days, but regular Paracetamol is usually adequate to manage the pain.

Breast Implant Associated - Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL)

There is growing concern about the topic of Breast Implant Associated - Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). It should be noted that this very rare condition is a lymphoma and not cancer of the breast tissue. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) currently advises implants are still regarded as safe for use in augmentation and reconstruction operations. The MHRA does not suggest a change in practice with the current data available.

The current recommendation from The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) can be found via the link below:
